I composed this work for my good friends Andy Hudson and Nick Photinos, for the occasion of the 2023 International Festival of New Music in Bucharest, Romania. One of our many common experiences is that we each have daughters. Breath remembers back to our first conversations with them; our first adventures with them; our first laughs and cries with them. Daughters are miracles that take your breath away, make you hold it at times, and show you the meaning of life every single day.
