Almost Still was composed for my good friend Andy Hudson. Written for solo clarinet and live looping, the piece begins with a gentle melodic line that slowly becomes six. Each new layer adds to the texture, creating an increasingly rich landscape of sound. The music unfolds gradually, always changing, yet somehow remaining almost still.
